Medline Rollator Walker: Assembled

As we get older, mobility becomes an issue. The Medline Rollator Walker is a walker with four 6 inch diameter plastic wheels that can be of great help to those needing mobility assistance. However, note that the walker needs assembly, so this is likely not the walker to purchase if you are purchasing the walker for yourself.

Medline Rollator Walker: Some Assembly Required

Though the seat is not height-adjustable, the grips can be height-adjusted: 31" to 35". Squeezing the hand-grips applies a brake to the rear wheels, and the brake can also be locked. The walker weighs about 19 pounds and supports about 300 pounds. Putting the walker together is not difficult (no tools are needed), though assembly could have been easier had the wheels been properly labeled–instead of a large sticker indicating the LEFT/RIGHT wheels pictured in the instruction manual, the rolled steel wheel tubes had a L/R stamp that was difficult to see. But otherwise assembly is straightforward–the wheels can only be locked in place with the provided screw knobs on the correct side, so if you find you inserted them on the wrong side, just switch them to the other side.

Medline Rollator Walker: Seat Compartment

Lifting the padded seat reveals a small seat compartment, measuring about 12" x 12". The compartment is soft-sided, and seems meant to temporarily hold some small items when walking from A to B, such as mail, a TV remote, a water bottle, etc.–I might not want to put something heavier than 5 pounds or so into the compartment. There is antimicrobial protection in the seat, padded backrest, and handles.

Medline Rollator Walker: Folded

One of the best features of this walker is that it easily folds, allowing for storage or transport in a vehicle. In use, the large wheels allow you to turn in any direction and roll over rugs and other floor bumps that would otherwise catch the feet of a more traditional walker. The seat allows for temporary rest while walking and the overall width is just under 24", so the walker fits through most any doorway. All in all, the Medline Rollator Walker is sturdy, easy to use, and can really benefit those in need of mobility assistance.
