Here’s a roundup of the top ten gadgets and gear that help keep me productive, organized, and sane.
1.)
For quite a few years while I was working in industry and consulting, the PC was the de facto computer of choice. However, during graduate school while I was taking security courses, I noticed that all of the security professors had Macs. So when my laptop PC of the time died, I switched over, and have never looked back. Mac is where it’s (currently) at. Apple MacBook Pro MC700LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop
2.)
It’s the Kendall book reader! I’m fond of the Amazon Kindle because it gives me more opportunities to read. Physical books aren’t going away, but being able to read on the Kindle prevents me from having to lug around multiple books with me wherever I go. Also, reading on the Kindle does not tire my eyes (unlike reading books on my laptop) and there’s plenty of free books for the Kindle, in addition to the bountiful selection of books at Amazon. The ScanSnap is essential for getting a handle on all the pieces of paper that clutter up my life. For more details, here’s my review of the scansnap. Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Scanner for the Macintosh

I use the iPod Touch when on travel to listen to music, audio books, and language courses, and when running to keep track of my workout and mileage. Apple iPod Touch 8 GB (4th Generation) NEWEST MODEL

When always on the go, it’s especially important to stay healthy, and the Gymboss timer is a key part of that effort. I mostly use the Gymboss as an interval timer when I workout with kettlebells or the TRX. Gymboss GB2010 BLACK SOFTCOAT
9.)
For the past several years I’ve travelled a lot by car, and often relied on power inverters, which convert DC electricity from a car’s 12V socket to AC power for any devices you might want to plug in, such as laptop computers! Wagan EL2402 SmartAC 200W Power Inverter with USB Port
10.)
The flip video camera helps me conveniently capture life moments, record lectures, and make video podcasts. It’s too bad Cisco is killing this camera–sounds like I’ll have to find a different video camera when it’s time to upgrade.
