Full Gray Linen Platform Bed: What Comes in the Box

This Full Gray Linen Platform Bed is a modern, stylish full size bed that can be assembled in about an hour, and only needs a mattress–it has built-in supports, so you do not need to provide box springs. In the box you get everything shown in the picture to assemble the bed, including a bag of extra bolts, a hex wrench, and a nut wrench. The tufted headboard is padded and covered with a gray linen material. The headboard, and bed sides have a wooden frame, and metal rails and supports provide extra stability. The top of the headboard is about 42.5" off the ground, the width of the outer bed frame is about 56.5", and the length of the bed is about 80.5".

Following the instructions is fairly straightforward–each bed piece is clearly labeled and the illustrations show orientation and how the pieces go together. The width of the frame sides is about 9.5".

First the frame of the bed is assembled, then the feet are attached, then supporting metal rails are added, then the supporting slats are put in place to complete the assembly.

The plastic square feet raise the bed frame about 2.5" off the ground and are secured to metal corner brackets. There are also two metal feet that attach midway down the side of the frame for extra support.

The metal support rails have two metal feet and also provide a central lengthwise rail to support the slats.

The wooden slats are the last part of the assembly. One assembly tip I should mention is that you should add the slats “slat by slat” or row by row. In other words, you don’t want to attach one end of each slat all along one side of the bed, then try to attach the other end of each slat–the frame can get skewed and it can make adding the slats difficult. So for each assembled slat, attach the left side, the middle, then the right side, then repeat for the next available slat.

The slats are curved to provide extra support to the mattress so that you do not need to use box springs. Not needing box springs also makes the bed easier to move in the room if you need to.

Overall, this bed was easy to put together and is of higher quality than I was expecting. The style is modern and the fabric has a nice feel to it. The slight padding makes the headboard comfortable to put your back against and helps give the tufted fabric a taught, full look. The quality of the materials suggests this bed will last a long time.
