Looks like we had an earthquake in Virginia today around 2PM, and it was felt all the way up the coast to Maine and into Canada. The USGS is reporting it as a 5.8 or 5.9 magnitude quake. Thanks to Xeni Jardin, here’s a Google map showing how close the epicenter of the quake was to the North Anna nuclear power station. Sorry, couldn’t resist taking a picture of our cat, taking a nap after a night of editing. She seems well adapted to the literary life. No doubt she’s dreaming of captaining a starship searching for planets strange and populated with mice capering in catnip forests. It just so happened that within two days I saw some cute critters in some trees nearby. The first pic shows two cats in the tree–not too unusual except they were pretty high up.
