Bose noise cancelling headphones 600

I’ve been using my Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones for several years now and they’ve become essential to my productivity.

Especially when working in a noisy environment—whether that be in a coffee shop, an open cubicle room, or even at home—noise cancelling headphones are great for tuning out the world, which helps increase focus and reduce stress.

While the Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones are great on travel as well, especially when on a train or airplane, the only drawback has been their bulk. Lately I’ve been trying to pack and travel light, which is why the Bose QuietComfort 20i Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones are a true blessing.

In addition to noise cancelling functionality, and the ability to play music, these headphones also have an “aware mode” so you can temporarily hear what is going on around you, such as when you need to hear the boarding announcement at the airport. The inline remote has a built-in mic and allows you to pause/fast forward/play/etc. songs on your iPad, iPhone, and iPod mobile devices.

I found the Bose QuietComfort 20i headphones to be very comfortable to wear. They come with 3 pairs of earbud tips (S, M, L) so you can customize the fit to your needs. They also come with a clothing clip to help keep the cable out of the way.

Best of all, the QuietComfort 20i is extremely portable and perfect for travel.

Unlike the QuietComfort 15, the QuietComfort20i has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which charges via the included USB cable. As a bonus, even if the battery dies you can still hear your music—you just lose the noise cancelling property. I did note however that the audio quality is better with the unit on than off.

As far as the noise cancelling feature—I’m just as happy with the QuietComfort 20i headphones as the QuietComfort 15 headphones.

There are actually two different models of the QuietComfort 20 headphones: the Bose QuietComfort 20, which are better for Android and Windows phones, and the ones I have, the Bose QuietComfort 20i, which are optimized for iPhone, iPod, and iPad.

In this video I show an unboxing of the QuietComfort 20i headphones:

So with the Bose QuietComfort 20i headphones, I can focus on my work, my music, or my power nap, in my own portable cone of silence.
